Spiritual Foundation

One thing I really believe in is that we have to work on our spiritual foundation first and foremost.

If we do not do this than our house will topple over.

Our house being our spiritual resolve or faith.

If the foundation is dry then we will become dry in our spiritual life.

We have to work on the foundation daily through regular hearing and chanting.

I'm back!

Sorry folks for the long absence of urm .... two years!

I intend - by the Lord's mercy - to update my blog on a semi regular basis from now on.

Been a long time since I was on this thing and so have decided to enter regular updates as before.

Hello there,

Have not been here for a while.

Time is such a powerful factor.

Started this blog when I was single and working.

Now married and not working and don't seem to have any time ...!

Today's Counsellee Meeting

Today we had a Counsellee Meeting in the seminar room.


AGENDA:

1) Welcome and how is everyone doing?

2) Group Japa

3) Reading of NOI - Text 1 and group discussion.
The homework was to read the text and purport in order to bring realisations and questions to the meeting.

4) The group was split into pairs and labelled a vegam ie: tongue, belly and genitals (in hindsight we realised this was not a good group name!)

Each group came up with 5 questions and answers taken from the section of NOI - Text 1 that related to their group title.

I then took out the surprise for the evening ... TWISTER !!!

Sonal collected the questions and read them out and I spun the wheel. If a group answered a question wrong (they were not asked their own question) they had to step onto the Twister mat (all their group members together).

Motal of the story? If reading homework is set it is a good idea to read it or you get all twisted up !

To move out of my home and live with someone else and to establish a new routine and learn to be selfless as you have to now consider someone elses feelings too.

1) We chanted 1 round together with Mother Urmila


2) Quesitons and Answer session with Mother Urmila.

Topics raised were: how to overcome unwanted anarthas, why do obstacles increase when you come to KC?, learning to be faithful to Krsna.


Mother Urmila stayed for an hour and then left for another ladies sanga (in the ladies ashram) at 7pm.

3) Setting a date for the next Sunday Feast - we agreed on Sunday 23rd May.

You have been warned !!

4) Group appreciation and present giving to Debbie as it was her birthday last week.

The death of the weak heart

Need to over come the petty weaknesses in the heart.

She said and he said that...

He does this and she does not do that ...

Who cares???

The reality is that we are all going to DIE someday and when that happens all we have is EACH OTHER.

We need Vaisnavas to chant at our deathbed - or can you guarantee you will be in a sound state of mind to do it yourself?

So we have to be really fixed in our sadhana and develop a taste to serve through hearing and chanting on a daily basis.
